The Lake Atitlán Escape:
Yoga & Adventure Retreat

Think sunrise yoga overlooking the lake, volcano hikes, waterfalls, Mayan culture, local villages, lake days, and evenings around the fire with new friends.

We'll balance adventure with plenty of time to relax, whether that's lounging by the pool, soaking in the solar hot tubs, or enjoying a slow morning with coffee and a view.

What Our Guests Say:

  • “I am a seasoned traveler who has gone to many countries and venues. I enjoyed this retreat very much and will definitely plan on going to other retreats with this group. It was well organized. The selection of activities was well thought out. The accommodations and services offered during the retreat were excellent. We had a group of 12 people. I initially knew three people, but became very good friends with everyone in our home.. The leaders, Christa and Amber were tuned into the different levels of yoga practice for each participant and adjusted accordingly. I look forward to their next event.”

    —Sherry

  • “The retreat was absolutely magical! It was my first yoga and hiking retreat, and set the bar high for my expectations going forward. Highly recommend!”

    —Sybil

  • “My time at the Sedona retreat was truly unforgettable ✨ Each day began with grounding morning yoga surrounded by breathtaking red rock views, and ended with soothing yin and sound baths under the stars — the perfect way to unwind and reflect. We explored the beauty of nature with incredible hikes through Sedona and even took a day trip to the Grand Canyon, which was absolutely awe-inspiring. The nourishing, healthy meals prepared for us each day made the experience feel both restorative and supportive from the inside out. This retreat offered the perfect blend of adventure, inner stillness, community, and self-care. I left feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and deeply connected 🌿🙏”

    —Mary

  • “I had a FABULOUS time at the retreat,. Accommodations were great, house was very spacious and clean and our chef Catalina was awesome. Other guests were great fun and loved the hikes & yoga.”

    —Suzanne

  • “Thank you for planning a wonderful trip. The food was fabulous (thank you Catalina) and the yoga leaders were exceptional (thank you Amber and Christa). And the group was even better. Everyone was gracious and fun. Loved the early morning yoga with amazing views and wonderful hikes. Sunsets were awe inspiring and star gazing was the best. Adding some free time was perfect. I hope this retreat becomes an annual event. I would definitely recommend and return.”

    — Deborah

  • “Dope people and good vibes ✨✨✨ I had so much fun on this retreat”

    — Tai

  • “Beautiful views, lots of yoga, hikes were epic. Great retreat all around. Everyone was so friendly and fun.”

    — LeaAnne

  • "I’m not a huge yogi and was a bit nervous that this retreat would be too challenging for me. Christa provided an entry point for all levels and I can I honestly say that my practice improved in the few days we were together. Besides the yoga, Christa curated a wonderful Maine experience that also included hiking, a sound bath, blueberry picking, a visit to a nearby ice cream shop, and relaxing nights by an outdoor fire."

    Ezeh

  • "Fun, fellowship, fantastic food, restorative yoga, hikes, swims, fire pits, hot tubs, ice cream stops, blueberry picking, beautiful scenery were all a part of this retreat. Christa took care of everything with her usual perfect planning and precision. I felt relaxed, nurtured, and well taken care of! Her retreats are always top notch, and I look forward to going on more. I highly recommend Mountain and Sun Retreats!"

    Cindy

  • "What an amazing retreat. I was incredibly relaxed when I returned from the yoga & hiking retreat in Maine. Christa did a fantastic job planning this trip. The yoga, hiking and food were excellent. What a nice group of people I was fortunate enough to meet and spend time with. I’ll definitely be doing another one!"

    Susanne

  • "My husband Stan and I attended this retreat. We had a tremendous time and met some wonderful folks from all over the US. We highly recommend Mountain and Sun Yoga Retreats. We will be joining them again for sure! Our host Christa and chef Cassidy did a stupendous job and navigated excellent excursions for attendees daily. The accommodations chosen for the group were excellent as well. We were very pleased with the healthy food choices our hosts prepared. Our yoga and sound bath practices in nature were so grounding and restorative... we did not want retreat to end! We miss all the folks we met already and we hope that they will also return on a future retreat with us!"

    Virginia

  • "I had an amazing time. The days were well planned and organized. Food was delicious. I arrived alone and left with new friends. A true learning and eye opening experience. "

    Debbie

  • "This retreat was everything my mind, body, and soul needed. A few days to slow down, be present, reconnect with myself, and set new intentions in the most beautiful setting in the mountains of New Hampshire. From the yoga and meditation to the sound baths, breathtaking sunrises, apple picking, and doing really, really hard things on the hike, every part of this experience was so special. The kind of experience that fills your soul and reminds you how important it is to step away from the noise and make time for yourself. Christa put so much thought, love, and intention into every detail. Her wisdom, kindness, healing energy, and the beautiful experience she created made this retreat truly unforgettable. And Cassidy’s meals deserve their own shoutout! Every meal was delicious, nourishing, and made with so much care. We were so incredibly well taken care of. One of my favorite parts was meeting such amazing women and sharing this experience together. I left feeling grateful, grounded, nourished, and inspired, with a full heart and new intentions to carry home with me. So thankful I said yes to this experience. Sometimes we need to step away from our everyday lives to reconnect with ourselves and remember what really matters. This was good for my soul in all the ways."

    Lisa

  • "This was a great trip for soul searching for me through the hiking we did. Throughout the retreat I did receive clarity on several things I have been working on. I ended with a great group of women and made great friendships."

    Charlotte

  • "I had a very relaxing and amazing trip. Made new friends and wonderful memories to cherish and share. The accommodations were great!"

    Megumi

  • "This was my first yoga retreat and it won't be my last. I wanted to get out of my rut, do something new & challenging, meet new people and make new friends. I met all my goals. The facility (Moondance Sanctuary) was a great setting. The mix of activities (yoga, hikes, and more) was appropriate and provided several full days of action and reflection. The food was yummy and meals were enjoyable. The mix of people and the camaraderie that developed was amazing. Thank you, Christa, for facilitating all that."

    Lynn

  • "We had a wonderful trip. Accommodations were beautiful and perfect. Yoga was just what we needed after a full day of hiking. Christa and Cassidy were very accommodating and flexible. Made great new friends. Thank you for a memory of a lifetime. ❤️❤️"

    Bonita

  • "This was my second retreat with Mountain and Sun. The accommodations were over the top;. food was plentiful and delicious. Very personalized experience for everyone. I like the smaller group setting Highly recommend."

Meet Your Host

Hi, I’m Christa — founder of Mountain & Sun Yoga Retreats.

I started Mountain & Sun from my love of travel, yoga, wellness, and the transformation both have brought into my life. Yoga is medicine — but so is community, adventure, culture, and slowing down in nature.

These retreats are about seeing the world alongside like-minded people while providing you a container for self-connection, growth, and reflection. A safe space to explore, play, and gently step outside your comfort zone. Each destination is chosen with intention — offering beautiful settings to practice, quiet moments to reflect, and shared experiences that turn strangers into friends.

No cliques. No pressure. Just real connection and space to slow down and breathe.

I can’t wait to explore with you.
